Fishermen in coastal areas of Maharashtra and Goa have been advised not to venture into the sea today and tomorrow as the sea is rough.

Orange alert for Kolhapur, Konkan

In South Konkan (Konkan weather) and Madhya Maharashtra (Maharashtra rain) warning of heavy rain has been given in some places today and tomorrow. Orange alert has been issued for Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Kolhapur districts today.

Cyclone in deep sea off Konkan coast

A cyclone is forming in the deep sea off the Konkan coast. Its influence is visible on the Konkan and Goa coasts. The cyclone is forming in the east-central Arabian Sea from South Konkan and Goa coasts in about 110 km deep sea, and the impact of this cyclone is being seen between West-Panaji and Ratnagiri.

Monsoon’s return journey begins

Meanwhile, monsoon has started its return journey. The Meteorological Department informed that southwest monsoon has started to return. The Meteorological Department had already announced that the Southwest Monsoon is withdrawing from Rajasthan. Also earlier, the Meteorological Department had predicted heavy rains in East India from September 29. Southwest Monsoon generally enters Kerala on 1st June, then covers the entire country by 8th July. Generally, the return journey of monsoon starts from 17th September. After that, the return journey continues till October 15.

Cyclone Dinesh is moving towards the Konkan coast from Goa. Due to this, fishing and tourism in Konkan has come to a standstill. The sea is in a rough state. While Goa and Konkan coast administration is on alert mode.
