Chandrababu Case: The AP government will approach the Supreme Court challenging the bail of TDP chief Chandrababu. Expressing strong objection to the grant of bail, the AP government will file a special leave petition in the Supreme Court.
TDP leader Chandrababu Chandrababu, who was arrested in the AP Skill scam case, was remanded in Rajahmundry Central Jail for 52 days. Later he was granted interim bail for 4 weeks on health grounds i.e. for eye treatment. After that arguments were held in the AP High Court on the regular bail petition. The AP High Court has reserved its verdict after completing the hearing on the regular bail petition. The AP High Court, which announced its verdict yesterday, granted regular bail. Besides, it has relaxed the restrictions imposed on participation in rallies and meetings in the past.
Now the AP government will file a special leave petition in the Supreme Court challenging the bail granted by the High Court. Many questions are being raised on this occasion. The AP High Court has raised objections regarding the grant of bail. The AP government will question that the High Court has acted beyond its scope and how can bail be granted when the case is pending in the trial court. The AP government is approaching the Supreme Court saying that the High Court’s intervention is not appropriate when the trial is at a crucial stage and how the High Court can confirm the trial court’s proceedings. The government says that the High Court has interfered with the powers of the lower court by going into the precedents of the case while granting bail. The government said that the behavior of the High Court was unusual.
On the other hand, a hearing will be held today on Chandrababu’s anticipatory bail petition in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road case. In the past, interim bail was granted in the same case till date. At the same time, there is a stay on the trial of the PT warrant in the ACB court. A hearing on the anticipatory bail petition in the liquor case is to be held in the High Court.
