While singing as a poet, Gorati Venkanna worked as a cooperative assistant sub-divisional officer. But when the minister went to talk to KTR about his stalled promotion, he said that he was offered the post of MLC. He reminded the minister of the matters of that time while revealing the reasons for getting the post.

‘I am a fluent person who does not approach anyone. Even the elder knows that. I will stay far away.. I will not come to meetings. I came to you.. I have a promotion. Working as Co-operative Assistant Sub-Divisional Officer. It will be 15 years. The earlier promotion was late. They all came for promotion. MLC was given instead of promotion, what job do you do? I never imagined that. I humbly took that responsibility.’ Gorati Venkanna told KTR.

To that, KTR said that it is an honor for you to get that position. He said that because you are a member of the Legislative Council, you have earned respect for that position.
