Following this, Chief Minister M.K.Stalin gave a congratulatory speech on the stage and said, “This university has the honor of being the only university in India that was created for music. Moreover, in this university which operates with the financial assistance of the state government, the chief minister who rules the state has the right to be the chancellor of this university. In this way, the chief minister who rules the state is the chancellor of the universities. Only then can universities grow better.

Dr.J.Jayalalitha, who was the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, decided to make the chancellor of this university last year 2013 thinking that if it is in the hands of others, its purpose will be destroyed. For this we should wholeheartedly appreciate Jayalalithaa. “I also wholeheartedly appreciate him for what he is now,” he said.

Speaking further, he said that as the Chief Minister elected by the people, I am the chancellor of this university so as to reflect the thoughts of the people, I am able to take the decision to honor two music geniuses by awarding doctorates in this graduation ceremony.

That is why we have been saying that the Chancellor should be the Chancellor of all the universities. That is why we are going to pass the draft law in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. The Supreme Court is investigating the matter. We hope for a good result,” he said.
