Sankara Nethralaya Hospital founder passes away: M.K.Stal’s obituary

Founder of Sankara Nethralaya Hospital and eminent ophthalmologist S.S. I am saddened to know that Badrinath has passed away.

Sankara Nethralaya Hospital, started by Badrinath with the aim of providing treatment in India after completing his higher studies in the US, has expanded and is now providing treatment to tens of thousands of people every day. It is noteworthy that Dr. Badrinath had also received the ‘Padma Bhushan’ award given by the Government of India for such service.

The importance of Badrinath in the field can be seen from the fact that renowned lawyer Nani Balkiwala, who came to know about the work done by Badrinath through Sankara Nethralaya, gave huge financial support to the hospital and later bequeathed all his assets to Sankara Nethralaya.

Badrinath, who shed light on countless people, is a loss to the medical field. My deepest condolences and condolences to the bereaved family and friends of SS Badrinath.
