Kayamkulam: Two persons have been arrested in the case of extorting lakhs on the pretext of giving admission to the nursing course. Salahuddin Ahmed (26) at Chakkuvalav Karumataka, Malappuram, Chelembra, and Bina (44) at Anayara Pulikal Ambu Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram, Kadakampally village, were arrested.

Bina, who lives on rent in Krishna Kripa, above Nellie, Thiruvallam, is the owner of Jeevajyoti Education Trust in Thiruvananthapuram. Earlier, he worked as an admission manager at Heera College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram.

According to the complaint, about 93 lakh rupees were extorted from various colleges in Kerala by saying that they would fix the admissions for nursing. The fraud was done by using forged allotment memos and circulars in the name of LBS Center for Science and Technology with the help of the third accused, who is a member of a private nursing association.

Bina, the second accused in the case, has been arrested in Mavelikkara and Ernakulam Puthankurish police stations in the same case. It is suspected that this gang has cheated many people in different parts of the state and taken money.

According to the instructions of District Police Chief Chaitra Teresa John, CI under the supervision of DYSP Ajaynath. Muhammad Shafi, S.I. A team consisting of Sreekumar, ASIs Reena and Jayalakshmi and policemen Vishnu, Anish and Sabish arrested the accused.
