Chennai: Telugu director Gunasekar said that Mahesh Babu liked Vijay’s performance in the film ‘Gilli’.

‘Gilli’ was released on April 17, 2004, directed by Dharani and starring Vijay. Trisha, Prakashraj and many others acted in the film, which was an important film in Vijay’s career. Vidyasagar composed the music. The film is a remake of the Telugu film ‘Okkadu’ starring Mahesh Babu.

After 20 years, the film was remastered in 4K digital quality and released in theaters on April 20. The film is released by Shakthivel Film Factory. The reception of the film has surprised many. Reportedly, ‘Gilli’ has broken all collections of re-released films so far.

In this situation, Gunasekar, the director of ‘Okkadu’, has commented on ‘Gilli’ and Vijay in an interview. Talking about it, he said, “Mahesh Babu really liked Vijay’s body language and acting in ‘Gilli’. Dharani had very cleverly changed the script to suit Vijay. Just like the ‘chemistry’ between me and Maheshbabu in ‘Okkadu’, we can see the ‘chemistry’ between Vijay and Tharani in Gilli,” said Gunasekar.
