Chetiathoppu: A daily wage laborer died of a heart attack while sitting down to eat at a cooperative sugar factory.

Karunanidhi, 52, hails from Sreeduncherry Main Road, Srimushnam Taluk. He was working as a daily wage laborer at Chethiyathoppu MRK Co-operative Sugar Factory for more than 10 years.

He had come to work yesterday as usual, but at 1:00 in the afternoon, while sitting down to eat, he suffered a sudden heart attack and fell unconscious and died on the spot.

The Chetiathoppu police have registered a case and are investigating.

Investigation revealed that Karunanidhi had undergone angioplasty 8 months ago.
