Hyderabad: A tragedy has struck the Telugu film industry. Kalathapaswi Kashinathuni Vishwanath (K.Viswanath) (92), the legendary director who gave many amazing films, passed away. He was suffering from illness for some time and passed away while undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital. Vishwanath, who left his mark on Telugu cinema for more than 5 decades, left this world and his fans were left in mourning. (K.Viswanath is no more)
K. Vishwanath’s hometown is Peda Pulivarru village in Repalle Mandam of Guntur district. Vishwanath was born on February 19, 1930 to Kashinath’s Subrahmanyam and Saraswathamma. K. Vishwanath has two sons and one daughter. He has directed more than 50 films, bringing a great honor to the Telugu film industry. K. Vishwanath has directed 9 films in Tollywood as well as Bollywood.
He started his film career as a studio sound recordist in Chennai and grew step by step. He became a director with the movie Atmagaravam. He played important roles in many films. He made many great films like Shankarabharanam, Sagarasangam, Shruti Layalu, Sirivennela, Swarnakamalam and Swatikiranam. He has directed many superhero films. Received many awards. He received the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2016 for his contribution in the field of cinema. Received Raghupathi Venkaiah Award and Padma Shri in 1992.

Telugu cinema celebrities are condoling the demise of Kalathapasvi. Junior NTR condoled him. Vishwanath stands tall among those who spread the fame of Telugu cinema across borders. He gave many amazing films like Shankarabharanam and Sagara Sangamam. The loss without him is never-ending. My deepest sympathy to their family. I want his soul to rest in peace,” said Jr. NTR.
Telangana Ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Singireddy Niranjan Reddy and Puvwada have expressed shock over Vishwanath’s death. Vishwanath’s death is a loss for the Telugu film industry. Ministers wished to grant courage to their family members at this time.
