Dandapani hails from Arunapati village next to Uthangarai in Krishnagiri district. He was working with his wife and son Subhash at Banyan Company in Tirupur.
In this case, Dandapani’s son Subhash has been in love with a girl named Anusha. Both are said to belong to different communities. Knowing about this, Dandapani has objected to love. And he has been telling Subhash to give up love.
Meanwhile, Subhash, who got married to Anusha 3 months ago, came to Arunapati village yesterday with his wife. There he went to his grandmother Kannamma (Dandapani’s mother) house.
On hearing this, Dandapani went there and slashed his son Subhash, daughter-in-law Anusha and mother Kannamma with a sickle. Dandapani ran away from the spot where all 3 people collapsed in a pool of blood.
Both Subhash and Kannamma were killed in the attack. Anusha was rescued in critical condition and admitted to hospital. He is undergoing intensive treatment there. The police have registered a case regarding the incident and are actively searching for Thandapani who is absconding.
