New Delhi : Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will induct 24 MLAs into his cabinet. Sources said that all of them will take oath on Saturday. Congress President, CM Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM DK. Sources said that the names of the ministers were finalized in a meeting between Sivakumar. Siddaramaiah will meet Rahul on Friday to sign the final list. It seems that eight MLAs, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s son Priyank Kharge, will be sworn in as ministers.
But till now they have not been allotted ministries. The sources said that the preparation of the list of ministers and the allocation of ministries to reconcile various groups in the state is like a sword for the Congress leadership. It is known that Lingayats, the most important community in the state, insisted on giving the post of chief minister claiming that they had laid a big foundation for the Congress’s victory. As they did not get the post of Chief Minister, there are speculations that MLAs belonging to that social group will get key ministerial posts. In view of next year’s general elections, the Congress leadership hopes to fulfill all the promises made before the state assembly elections. It is known that on 20th of this month, Siddaramaiah was sworn in as Chief Minister and Karnataka Congress President DK. Shivakumar as Deputy CM.
