Meghan Markle LIES about Nelson Mandela anecdote: ‘Never met her’

Meghan Markle’s new explosive interview has caused quite a stir. “An actor told me, ‘When you married Harry, we partied in the street as much as when Mandela was released from prison,'” was one of the bizarre statements Meghan made in the interview with The Cut. But according to the actor, Meghan is talking from her neck and she made up the anecdote. “I’ve never met her!”

During the explosive interview with The Cut, Meghan said that she was taken aside by a South African actor during the premiere of the Disney film The Lion King.

,,I had just given birth to Archie, and I was afraid of what was about to happen. But then one of the actors spoke to me: ‘When you came into the family by marrying Harry, we partied in the street as hard as when Mandela was released from prison.’ That was a beautiful moment, a bright spot.”

Grandson Nelson Mandela furious

Nelson Mandela’s grandson is furious that Meghan has brought this anecdote into the world. “Fighting 60 years of apartheid and 350 years of colonialism in South Africa is not the same as marrying a white prince,” he said furiously in the Daily Mail. “My grandfather stood up for minorities, for children and women, for the most vulnerable people in society. For the people who are oppressed. I really don’t understand wanting to compare yourself to that. Celebrating his release in 1990 cannot be compared to anyone’s marriage.”

“I never met Meghan!”

But there’s more. John Kani, an actor from The Lion King, tells the Daily Mail that he is “stunned” by the anecdote Meghan brought into the world. According to him, the anecdote must be about him because he is the only South African in the Disney movie.

“It baffles me. I’ve never met Meghan Markle. I am the only South African in the cast and I was not at the London premiere. It’s just a bad memory of her,” the actor said.

‘Nobody knows when Harry and Meghan got married’

He also says that Meghan and Harry’s wedding was not celebrated in South Africa at all. “I don’t remember when they got married. We had no South African connection to the wedding or to her marriage to Harry. I am really surprised by this.”
