Kallakurichi: On the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi, a jeweler from Kallakurichi has designed a Ganesha statue using models of ancient war weapons. Arumugam son Venkatesan, 41, a resident of Kallakurichi V.U.C. He is a jeweler and works as a jewelery appraiser at Indian Bank, Devpandalam.

On the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi, he has been making Ganesha idols for the last 10 years in innovative ways using eggshells, navadaniyam, coconut shell, match stick, silver spoon and musical instruments. In this case, using gold, silver, copper, brass and iron, he made models like ancient war weapons and designed the idol of Ganesha.
