Directed by Vasudev Menon, the film stars Vikram, Ritu Varma, Radhika, Parthiban, Vinayak, Simran and others in the lead roles. Harris Jayaraj has composed music for this film. Gautham Vasudev Menon said about the film:
It is a spy thriller film. This is the story I made for Surya. He didn’t act for some reason. Then I told this story to Rajinikanth. He liked it too. He couldn’t act in it. When Vikram came into the story I made some changes. The story I did for Surya had an emotional flashback. That’s the thing about a 20-year-old boy. I removed it in this.
It has been 15 years since the Mumbai terror attack. I have made this as a story that takes place in the 15th year. It is a film with continuous parts. The first part of this film will have a twist at the end. It will be followed by subsequent parts. There will be a different villain and maybe even a different hero. Whether the film succeeds or not, I am going to continue this story.
Vikram’s name in the film is Dhruv. If it is a pole star we call it a special star. As the story takes place in the background of Vikram, I have given the title Dhruva Nakshatra. They ask me about acting in films. Due to a problem I started acting in other director’s films. But more opportunities came. Even now there is an opportunity to act in a big hero film. But, in my house, I don’t want to go out as an actor. They keep saying that you did not come for this. I watched Vetimaaran and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s films as a learning experience.
It has been shot in various locations including Istanbul, Bulgaria, Georgia, New York, Turkey and Abu Dhabi. Technically this movie is awesome. Thus said Gautham Vasudev Menon
