Famous stunt master Somu worked as a stunt master for the fight scenes in films starring MGR, Shivaji, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. It is also said that he was MGR’s guru. He has also acted in many films including Keplothiya Tamilan, Apoorva Brothers, Veerapandiya Kattabomman, Karnan.

Also his wife and actress S. Subbulakshmi’s son Sanmukharajan aka Raja Mustapha has acted in several films in the past including Savi, Umai Viviliya and Karthi starrer Airathil Oruvan. He has also worked as an associate director in some films. Due to the lack of opportunities for him to act in films, he has been living in a private rented flat on Bagalur road near Hosur in Krishnagiri district from Chennai for the last 10 years as his family is very poor.

In this case, Shanmugarajan is seriously ill due to oral cancer. Due to this, he is struggling to get treatment without any means even for medical expenses. He is also a lifetime member of South Indian Film Actors Association. He has a wife named Nagina Raj and a son named Mastan.

Meanwhile, son Mastan suffered a road accident 2 years ago and is struggling with both legs. Nagina Raj has made a fervent request that the Chief Minister M.K.Stalin and the Actors’ Association should kindly extend a hand of help to their family who are suffering from such severe loss of life.

Nagina Raj said, “Our mother-in-law S. Subbulakshmi was a committee member in the Actors’ Association. At present we have appealed to the actor’s union several times about our family’s poverty, but to no avail. They say that they will see after the construction of the actor’s union building. Currently, our family is living a very difficult life without even food and rent. The pension allowance which has been given to him for the last 4 years is not coming now.

And so far we have not received any help from the actors’ union. So, senior actors should realize our situation and help us. “It is very painful that the son of Stunt Somu, who acted as a stunt master for leading actors including MGR and Shivaji, and acted in various films and was praised by a street named Stunt Somu in Kodambakkam, is suffering without support,” he said.
