New Delhi: Due to Covid, there is a fault in the sensor of the heart artery. When there is a fault in the centre, it does not do its work properly. The problem of drop in blood pressure of people after Covid has been observed due to non-functioning of the sensor. AIIMS doctors claim that we have been successful in proving that due to Covid, the artery sensor becomes stiff and due to this blood pressure cannot be controlled. Therefore, people who have moderate or severe Covid should get tested at least once a year, so that they can know whether heart and BP are under control or not.

Study conducted on 56 patients

Dr Dinu S Chandran of the Physiology Department of AIIMS said that we have seen that even post Covid mild patients are facing problems. Especially when they get up from sitting, fatigue and heart palpitations increase. We studied 56 mild Covid patients who recovered without treatment and without going to the hospital.

Poisonous air is making people sick in Delhi, patients in hospitals have increased, experts advise to go out of the house less.

Doctor Dinu said that generally the blood vessels of the body go in a lower direction when we get up from sitting, this happens due to gravity. In such a situation, when blood flow to the heart reduces, blood pressure starts falling. But after some time, the sensor present in the artery sends a message to the brain and the brain sends a message to the nerve of the heart and the heart signal comes and it is managed.

In the study conducted in mild Covid, we found that 8 to 10 percent are facing this problem that when they get up after sitting, their heartbeat increases and they feel tired. The fault is occurring in the center of the artery of such people. Usually the center is like a rubber, expanding when needed. But in this situation it was becoming stiff. To detect STIFF, we have tied up with IIT Madras and used their technology.
