Has the risk of sudden death increased among youth due to Covid-19 vaccine? ICMR replied

After the Covid-19 pandemic, the government launched a large-scale vaccination campaign to save people’s lives. More than 2 billion doses of vaccine were given to people in the country. But, within the last one to one and a half years, many cases of death of youth due to heart attack have come to light in the country. In such a situation, discussion started about whether the vaccine was the reason behind this. However, now the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has answered this.

Actually, ICMR has recently done a study. In this, the answer to the question has been sought whether there is any relation between the Covid vaccine and sudden deaths? Through its study, ICMR has said that the risk of sudden death among youth has not increased due to Covid-19 vaccine in India.

It says that hospitalization before Covid-19, old cases of sudden deaths in the family and changes in lifestyle have increased the chances of sudden death.

ICMR study states that there is no connection with sudden death due to the vaccine. It has been told that if someone has taken at least one dose of the vaccine, then the risk of death due to coronavirus reduces.

The study says that history of hospitalization due to Covid, family history of sudden death, drinking alcohol 48 hours before death, taking drugs or doing vigorous exercise 48 hours before death are some of the factors. Whose risk of sudden death increases.

This study was conducted by ICMR from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2023. It included 47 hospitals across the country. People aged between 18 to 45 years, who were apparently healthy, were included for the study. None of them were suffering from any chronic disease. The study revealed that the risk of sudden death was very low among people who had taken two doses of the vaccine.
