In the AIIMS study, it has been told how the arteries have been affected after Corona and not only this, the blood pressure also does not remain under control. After Corona, the problem of BP has also been seen more in people. In such a situation, now the doctors of AIIMS have advised the Covid moderate patients that due to Covid, there is a fault in the sensor of the heart artery. And when this happens, the artery is unable to function properly. Due to non-functioning of sensors, the problem of drop in blood pressure of people has been observed after Covid.

Doctors at AIIMS claim that we have been successful in proving that due to Covid, the artery sensor becomes stiff and due to this the blood pressure cannot be controlled. Therefore, people who have moderate or severe Covid should get tested at least once a year to know whether heart and BP are under control or not. Because monitoring is necessary.
How was the study done?
This study has been done by Dr. Dinu S Chandran of the Physiology Department of AIIMS. He said, “Not only serious infections, post Covid mild patients are also facing this problem. Especially when they get up from sitting, fatigue and heart palpitations increase. A study was conducted on 56 mild Covid patients who recovered without treatment and without going to the hospital. Generally, when the blood vessels of the body get up from sitting, the blood goes in the lower direction, this happens due to gravity. In such a situation, when the blood flow to the heart reduces, the blood pressure starts falling.

Dr. Dinu S Chandran said, “But after some time, the sensor present in the artery sends a message to the brain and the brain sends a message to the nerve of the heart and the signal comes to the heart and it is managed.” He said that in the study conducted in mild Covid, it was found that 8 to 10 percent are facing this problem that when they get up after sitting, their heartbeat increases and they feel tired. The fault is occurring in the center of the artery of such people. Dr. Chandran said that generally the center is like a rubber, it expands when needed. But in this situation it was becoming stiff. To find out the stiffness, we have tied up with IIT Madras and used their technology in this.
