Chakulia: The final match of the two-day football competition organized under the aegis of Adibasi Sahapad Gaonta Club in Badtolia village of Chandanpur Panchayat of Chakulia block was played between Narva Pahar XI and Bhatin XI. MLA Sameer Mahanty was present on the occasion as chief guest. MLA Shri Mahanty inaugurated the final match by introducing himself to the players and kicking the football. Narva mountain won the competition. Addressing the occasion, MLA Shri Mahanty said that football is a popular game in rural areas. Sports promote mutual unity and brotherhood. He said that players should play with sportsman spirit to enhance their talent and bring glory to the region and their name. On the occasion, the winning team Narva Pahad XI was rewarded with a trophy and Rs 30001 and the runner-up team Bhatin XI was rewarded with a trophy and Rs 20001. Mahanti, Committee’s Sanjay Tudu, Bariyal Soren, Sarju Tudu, Budhrai Hansda, Fagunath Murmu, Chandrarai Murmu, Ram Murmu, Surai Soren, Guru Charan Hansda, Basen Kumar Hansda, Shivu Mandi and others were present.
