Ghatshila: Chhath, the four-day festival of folk faith in Ghatshila sub-division, ended peacefully on Monday morning with the offering of Arghya to Lord Bhaskar. During this period, thousands of Chhathvratis offered prayers to the setting and rising form of Lord Sun and prayed for the welfare of the world. Thousands of devotees gathered on the banks of river Suvarnarkha to offer Arghya to the setting sun on Sunday evening and the rising sun on Monday. During this period, the entire area remained immersed in devotion for four days with Chhath songs playing everywhere. The administrative system at the ghat remained fine. The puja committee also remained active. Mahaprasad was also distributed by the Arunodaya Chhath Puja Committee. Ghatshila MLA Ramdas Soren and JMM workers reached Chhath Ghat, offered prayers
Ghatshila: On Monday morning, on the occasion of Chhath Puja, Ghatshila MLA Ramdas Soren and JMM workers reached Maubhandar Chhath Ghat and offered prayers to Lord Bhaskar with devotion. MLA Ramdas Soren offered Arghya to the rising sun. On the occasion, the MLA wished everyone a happy Chhath Puja. On this occasion, Kanhu Samant, Advocate Hembram, Pradhan Soren, Suklal Hansda, Kajal Don, Fabian Tirkey, Ampa Hembram, Pratap Das, Bhado Hansda, Badal Hembram, Dularam Tudu, Dilbahadur Sonar, Sanjeevan Patar and other JMM workers were present.
