Itarsi News Navdunia Representative, Itarsi. The ICU ward, built to provide immediate ICU facilities to emergency patients, has been lying closed for two years. The second ICU ward of the district in Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Government Hospital is proving to be a white elephant.
The lock of this ward, built after the Covid period, has not been opened till date, whereas the government has prepared a ward with all facilities. Due to lack of MD medicine and trained staff who admit the patients and take care of them in this ward, the patients are not getting the benefit of this facility.
Along with the new OPD building, an ICU ward was also built in the second largest government hospital of the district falling under the subdivision. This ward has all other facilities including ventilator. This building has been locked since its construction.
Officials say that there is no MD for this ward in the hospital. After the retirement of the then Superintendent and MD Dr. RP Tikariya and Dr. RK Gupta, the government did not appoint a new MD Medicine here, whereas being a 200 bedded hospital, there should be two specialists here. Due to lack of MD medicine, instead of admitting serious patients here, they have to be referred directly to the district headquarters or Bhopal, in this case the ward built worth lakhs of rupees is proving to be useless.
Trouble if you have a heart attack
Due to falling temperature during cold days heart attack The cases increase, but in such a situation, even if the patients reach the government hospital, they are not able to get even primary treatment here. Many such patients die due to lack of timely treatment. According to officials, it is very important to have MD medicine in such cases.
Viral fever patients increased
here Season Due to the ups and downs, the number of viral fever patients is increasing. Due to intense sunlight during the day and increasing cold at night, patients suffering from seasonal diseases are increasing. Due to increase in the number of mosquitoes, there is also a risk of malaria and dengue infection.
During the Covid period, a 14-bed ICU ward has been created in the hospital, in which all facilities are available. Due to lack of MD medicine here, this ward is closed.
