Jamshedpur: The issue of death of five elephants near Musabani, rural area of Jamshedpur has become hot. The Forest Department is under question in this matter. Regarding this matter, it has now come to light that there were a total of 9 elephants in the herd, out of which five elephants have died while four elephants are still in that area. Now preparations have been made to send all these elephants to the forest. Meanwhile, former MLA Kunal Shadangi has attacked the DFO of Jamshedpur. In Jharkhand, the main opposition party BJP is enraged. With such cases continuously coming to light in the area, he has blamed the Forest Department for negligence. He has cited the gross lack of coordination between the Forest Department and the Electricity Department and the poor condition of field work as the main factors behind such incidents. The former MLA alleges that the role of DFO is limited to merely doing photo sessions and distributing compensation after the death of elephants. He has demanded Chief Minister Hemant Soren along with Union Forest and Environment Ministers Bhupendra Yadav and Ashwini Vaishnav to take cognizance of the matter and form an investigation committee. Kunal Shadangi has raised many questions on the role of DFO in his aggressive tweet. He has asked that even before this, recently two elephants had died due to electric shock in Chakulia. Since the incident, it is necessary to investigate what work has been done by the District Forest Officer for coordination and joint monitoring with the Electricity Department to curb such incidents in the Elephant Corridor. He has also raised the demand for investigation of the incident at the level of District Deputy Commissioner and action against the culprits. There has been a stir after Kunal’s tweet.
