People’s test has changed
The game of entertainment has changed a lot in the past few years. Over-the-top ie OTT has also come in this. He changed the addiction of the people of Hindi belt by serving the best and uncountable content to the people during the Kovid period. Now they don’t want to spend extravagantly on mediocre content. Their expectations are much higher than before. The wall of linguistic barrier has also been broken. They are no longer averse to good content in another language. The success of South Indian movies like KGF, RRR, Pushpa is proof of this. It shows the changes in the test. If there is good content, people do not mind even watching dubbed films. He has also stopped giving attention to the starcast. Earlier, only names like Akshay, Shahrukh, Aamir, Salman used to be enough for the success of the film. But, it is no longer a guarantee. Some of the recent films may not have lived up to these criteria of the people.
Difficult to understand from PVR and INOX shares
However, after one film after another flop, now the hustle and bustle of those running the cinema chain has increased. Here we try to explain to you by taking the example of just two big listed firms that why is now waiting for a superhit film like ‘The Kashmir Files’. Shares of PVR have lost 13.98 per cent in the last one month. Similarly, the stock of INOX Leisure has fallen 14.88 percent during this period.
In such a situation, it would be wrong to say that the disillusionment for Bollywood films has only affected the actors and producers. Movie theater owners are feeling its loss equally. After being closed for a long time during the Corona period, they are betting on superhit films. These films bring the audience to the theatres. This increases the revenue of cinema halls.
How will the problem end?
Experts are of the opinion that only the quality of the films can change the attitude of the people. During April and June, many great films came which filled the theatres. Theaters had a good March quarter business. In this, apart from South Indian films like KGF and RRR, Kashmir Files and Gangubai Kathiawadi also had important roles. Despite good sales, both these listed chains posted losses.
Both are still on the path of recovery. He had high expectations from Lal Singh Chaddha, Rakshabandhan and Ligar. But, all of them were disappointed. Looking at the trends, it is known that during the last six months, all the big budget films have proved to be laggy. Be it Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad, Akshay Kumar’s Bachchan Pandey or Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam and Aamir’s Lal Singh Chaddha. The ad revenue of theaters is also at a very low level. This is a major part of the earnings of the multiplex business. The problem of theaters will be fixed only when the films run. It will run only when the content is good.
