This is the first Indian song to get Oscar nominations in the Best Original Song category. So far, the song Jai Ho… in ‘Slum Dog Millionaire’ composed by AR Rahman won the Oscar in the best score category. But even though it is an Indian based story, the film is shaped by British makers. That’s why if ‘Natu Natu…’ wins the Oscar, it will create history as the first Indian song. After ‘Lagan’, ‘RRR’ became the first Indian film to get a nomination. Apart from the best actor, the fans of ‘RRR’ expected to get nominations in other categories as well. But that dream did not come true. But it is remarkable that ‘RRR’ got a place in the promo designed for Oscar 95 awards.

First Indian Documentary

PIndian documentary film ‘All That Breathes’, made on the theme of the need for environmental protection, has received a nomination in the Best Documentary Feature category. It was directed by Shaunak Sen. This documentary is based on the lives of Delhi-based nature lovers Mohammad Saad and Nadeem Shehzad. Both these brothers devoted their lives to rescue and rescue injured birds. This documentary has also been nominated for the prestigious BAFTA Award in the past. ‘All That Breaths’ was the first Indian documentary to be nominated for an Academy Award.

* Indian documentary short ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ was nominated for the Best Documentary Short category. The 41-minute long short film is directed by Karthiki Gonçalves. Produced by Guneet Monga and Achin Jain. It will compete with fourteen other documentaries for the main award.

Rajamouli thanked all those who worked for Natu Natu song through Twitter. On this occasion, he congratulated the nominated Indian documentary films. Many film personalities including popular protagonists Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna congratulated the film team through social media.

‘Everything…’ airs with 11 nominations

95th The movie ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ swept the Academy Awards nominations with 11 nominations. After that the films ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ and ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ got nine nominations. Elvis received eight nominations. The Oscars will be held on March 12.
