In this regard, Director of Private Schools Nagaraj Murugan, in a letter sent to all District Education Officers, it has been announced that schools under the control of the Director of School Education will open on October 3 after the quarterly examination holiday in the academic year 2023-2024 for the government, government-aided high and secondary schools.
Therefore, he said that all types of private schools should be opened and functioning on October 3rd after the end of the first semester and quarter examination leave for all types of private schools operating in the Tamil Nadu curriculum.

The first semester examination holiday is announced from 28th September to 8th October only for students studying in class 1 to 5 in government and government aided primary and middle schools. Schools will open for them on October 9 and will function as usual.
The Director of Elementary Education had announced that the schools will function as usual from October 3 as per the 2-term examination calendar for the students studying in 6th to 8th standard in government and government-aided middle schools.

Similarly, it is to be noted that the schools running under the Department of School Education have been notified to start functioning from October 3 for students studying in classes 6 to 12.
