The weather patterns are going to change in many states of North India from today. An alert has been issued for rain and snowfall in hilly areas in many states. Giving information about the weather in the states of South India, the Meteorological Department has said that today there will be heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala. After this the rain will reduce.
Unseasonal rain in Mumbai and its surrounding areas: According to news received from Mumbai and Thane, some suburbs of Mumbai and its neighboring areas including Thane received unseasonal rain with thunderstorms on Thursday night. According to local residents, parts of Kanjurmarg, Bhandup, Mulund, Powai, Aarey and some other areas of Mumbai besides extended suburbs like Dombivli, Kalyan, Ulhasnagar and Badlapur received thunderstorms around 9 pm.
The Municipal Corporation said in a release that 5.84 mm rainfall was recorded in 1 hour between 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm in Thane city. The unseasonal rain occurred at a time when the local market was crowded with people doing Diwali shopping. The country’s financial capital and some of its neighboring areas including Panvel and Navi Mumbai also received sudden rain on Wednesday.
Light rain and snowfall is possible in Uttarakhand after 24 hours. Light to moderate rain is possible in Punjab. Light rain may occur at isolated places over northwest Rajasthan, Haryana, Sikkim and Assam. There may be some improvement in the air quality of Delhi-NCR. Due to Western Disturbance, moderate rain and snowfall may be seen for 2 days in the Western Himalayan regions.
Low level winds may also become slightly stronger over the weekend and early next week. Light rain and winds will improve the air quality. Weather conditions are likely to remain good over the northern plains and will persist between November 11 and November 19, which may extend into the next week as well.

The low pressure area is located over the east central Arabian Sea. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 3.1 km above mean sea level. A cyclonic circulation has formed over Comorin area. Western Disturbance is over the Western Himalayas.
Possible weather activity today: According to Skymet Weather, moderate to heavy rain may occur in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, South Konkan and Goa and South Central Maharashtra today on Friday. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells may occur over parts of Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
On the other hand, light to moderate rain and snowfall is possible in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Light rain and snowfall is possible in Uttarakhand today. Light to moderate rain is possible in Punjab. Light rain may occur at isolated places over northwest Rajasthan, Haryana, Sikkim and Assam.(Agencies)
