A terrible fire broke out in the fishing port of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh early yesterday morning where fishermen’s boats were docked. A fire that spread from one boat spread to other boats in succession and caused extensive damage. 36 boats were completely gutted and damaged in this fire accident. 9 boats partially damaged. Fortunately, there was no loss of life in the incident.
In this case, the information about the reason for this incident has been released. A wine party was held on a boat belonging to Balaji which was docked at Visakhapatnam harbor last Sunday night. There was a dispute between the YouTubers present at the show over money.
It is said that due to this, some people who were intoxicated set the boat on fire and fled. The fishermen saw the boat on fire and tried to push the boat into the sea. But strong winds spread the fire quickly to other boats. The fire spread rapidly as the cylinders in the boats exploded one after the other. Firefighters rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire.
Speaking to reporters, Andhra Fisheries Minister Seethiri Abalraju, who personally inspected the area where the incident occurred, said, ‘Unfortunately, 36 boats were completely burnt. 9 boats were damaged. Through this, up to 80 percent of the total cost of the boat will be given to the owner of the boat as compensation to the victim’s family. This is the Chief Minister’s decision’, he said. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
