Transport Minister Sivasankar said that for the convenience of the devotees who come to witness the Tiruvannamalai Deepa festival, additional AC bed buses will be operated by the Government Rapid Transport Corporation.
The Karthikai Deepa Festival at Tiruvannamalai Arunachaleswarar Temple started on 17th November last with the hoisting of the flag. Lakhs of devotees are expected to witness this 10-day festival. Therefore, it has been reported that additional buses will be run for the convenience of pilgrims coming from outside.
Regarding this, Transport Minister Sivasankar said, “AC sleeper buses will be operated under the Government Express Transport Scheme for the convenience of pilgrims coming to see the Thiruvannamalai Deepa festival. November 24 and 25 will be available for pilgrims from Nellai, Nagercoil, Thoothukudi, Madurai and Coimbatore. Special buses will be operated on 26th and 25th, 26th and 27th from Chennai to Tiruvannamalai and 50 AC buses will be operated from Tiruvannamalai to Chennai,” he said.
