A woman who was doing insurance work for patients defrauded the hospital, embezzled lakhs of rupees, a case was registered

News Service, Navi Mumbai: It has come to light that a woman working in the account department of the Metric Superspeciality Hospital of Kharghar diverted the hospital’s amount of eight and a half lakhs to her own bank account and that of her husband and friend. The woman’s name is Ujjwala Gavankar and the Kharghar police have registered a case against her along with her husband Prashant Gavankar and her friend Diksha Khot and started the investigation.

On inquiring with other employees, the doctor got information that a woman named Ujjwala Gavankar had transferred this amount to her own, husband’s and friend’s bank accounts. On further investigation, it was found that Ujjwala had embezzled an amount of Rs.14 lakh nine thousand from the hospital during the period from November 2022 to April 2023. Dr. When Achari questioned her, she confessed to embezzling the hospital’s funds. Out of which she returned two and a half lakh rupees. The remaining amount was agreed to be paid in a few days.

After that, Ujjwala was repeatedly contacted by the hospital about paying the remaining amount. But she did not deposit the remaining eight lakh rupees. Therefore, the hospital filed a complaint against Ujjwala Gavankar in Kharghar police station.
