Dehradun: Two big army aircraft landed at Jolly Grant Airport for the first time during the day, brought machine to send to Uttarkashi – Army C-17-globemaster and Hercules Aircraft Landed On Dehradun Airport

For the first time during the day, two giant aircraft of the Indian Air Force, C-17-Globemaster and Hercules, successfully landed at the airport on Monday for the rescue operation being conducted for 41 workers trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi district.

Machines and equipment were unloaded from both the planes with the help of cranes and sent to Uttarkashi in trucks. For the rescue operation being carried out in Uttarkashi, the C-17 Globemaster aircraft landed at the airport at around 1 pm. The aircraft was parked in front of the airport terminal and the machines were lowered. About an hour later, at 2:10 pm, the Hercules aircraft also landed at the airport.

After this the aircraft was turned around from the front of the terminal and taken to the AntiRO complex. C-17 Globemaster has already landed at Dehradun Airport several times late at night carrying military equipment. Even after the Silkyara accident, this plane has landed at the airport three times late at night carrying machines and equipment. On Monday, both the planes landed amid the movement of other flights during the day. No flights were affected by this.

Movement of military planes is going on till late night for rescue at Dehradun Airport. Due to which all the agencies at the airport have been kept on alert. All the agencies are handling the flights, chartered planes as well as military planes very well.
