Kollam:Government not allocating enough funds for various schemes for the development of agriculture-animal-fishery sectors and upliftment of farmers. The problem is lack of funds. The recommendations submitted by the Assembly Committee on Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, which examined the plans, were also wasted.

Agriculture sector

: * We also have to allocate five crore rupees more for the expansion of the project to agriculture and for the distribution of planting material for agriculture.

* Promote value added agriculture and agricultural products. Start seven AgriTech Facility Centers under the Department of Agriculture. 175 crore should be allocated for this.

* Amount required to cover crop damage for the financial year 2021-22. Dues to State Seed Distribution Authority. Amount required to provide for crop damage, pest control and weeding for the financial year 2022-23. 44.42 crores should be allocated for these in addition to the budget allocation.

* Two crore should be allocated for the development scheme of perfumes.

Dairy

: * 16.18 crore should be sanctioned for providing fodder at low cost to dairy farmers.

An additional 6.21 crore should be allocated for various projects, including Rs 21 lakh for the meat processing unit at Erur, Kollam and Rs 4 crore for the Bull, Buffalo and Kitari rearing center project at Chalakudy Pariyaram Village, Thrissur.

Fisheries

:. 5 crore should be allocated in addition to the amount in the budget for providing insurance cover for fish farming.

*In the budget announcement, it was announced that kerosene will be allowed to fishermen at the rate of Rs.25. 233 crore more should be allocated for this. 278 crores to allocate 300 liters of kerosene per month to Matsyafed engines with a subsidy of Rs 50 and kerosene allocated by the Civil Supplies Department based on engine horse power at the same price. Only 45 crores have been allocated in the budget.
