Dhangar community march in Jalanya turned violent, aggressive protesters vandalized collector’s office

burn: On behalf of Dhangar community, a march was taken out at Jalna Collectorate today for this and other demands that ST i.e. Scheduled Tribe reservation should be implemented for Dhangar community. The march that started from Gandhi Chaman in the city reached the Collector’s office, but the protestors were angered by the perception that the authorities were delaying their arrival to accept the statement of the march. These angry protestors broke the windows of the collector’s office and vandalized the vehicles. Due to this, there was only one rush in the collector’s office.

Two months ago, the Dhangar community was on fast to death at Chaundi in Ahmednagar district for the Dhangar community to get ST category reservation. At this time, the government delegation met the protestors and asked for a deadline of 50 days. Even after this deadline, the government did not implement Dhangar reservation. Therefore, a huge march was organized today in Jalna on behalf of the Dhangar community to attract the attention of the government.

The statement of the demands of the Dhangar community was to be given to the Collector. But the protestors understood that the authorities are reaching this place late to take the statement. Out of that anger, they vandalized the glass and pots in the collector’s office and destroyed the vehicles there.

Dhangar Bandhwani took an aggressive stand as the officer did not come to take the statement. At this time, the Dhangar Samaj brothers broke the main entrance of the Collector’s office and entered the premises of the Collector’s office shouting loud slogans and leaving the entire area in a state of chaos. An atmosphere of tension was created in the district collector’s office due to this incident.
