Jaipur: When the Sports Council evicted RCA from SMS Stadium after completion of the MOU with Rajasthan Cricket Association, the pain of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was expressed. Gehlot termed this action of the Sports Council as motivated by political animosity. He said that the reason for this was the expiry of the MOU. Even then, legal action could have been taken instead of this sudden lockdown. Gehlot said that such action will reduce the trust of national organizations on the sports associations of Rajasthan. After coming to power in the state, Gehlot was pained to see his son’s status in RCA diminishing.

Sports Council took action against RCA

After the MOU between RCA and Sports Council expired on 22 February, Sports Council evicted RCA from SMS Stadium on 23 February. RCA office sealed. Also, the possession of RCA was also removed from the part of SMS Stadium. Besides, the hotel run by RCA was also snatched. During the action of the Sports Council, all three had to leave the office and return home. After which former CM Ashok Gehlot expressed his pain.

Politics in cricket… RCA has neither office nor ground, what will Gehlot’s son Vaibhav do now?

Vaibhav Gehlot’s entry was made 5 years ago

During the last Lok Sabha elections, Vaibhav Gehlot had contested from Jodhpur Lok Sabha seat but he lost the election to Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. After not being successful in politics, former CM Ashok Gehlot got his son Vaibhav Gehlot entered in cricket. In December 2019, Vaibhav Gehlot was made the president of RCA. Congress leader Rameshwar Dudi had contested against Ashok Gehlot’s son but the election officer had disqualified the district unions of Alwar, Nagaur and Sriganganagar. In those days Dudi was the president of Nagaur District Union. After the disqualification of three district associations, Vaibhav Gehlot’s path to becoming RCA president became easier. It was during Gehlot’s rule that Vaibhav Gehlot became the President of RCA for the second time in December 2022, but now after the change of government in the state, obstacles have come in Gehlot’s path.

Now the status of Rajendra Rathod’s son will increase.

Senior BJP leader and former Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathod has entered his son Parakram Rathod into cricket. Recently Parakram Rathod has been elected President of Churu District Cricket Association. Now, in the coming days, Parakram Rathore is preparing to defeat Vaibhav Gehlot in the election field. However, in case the MOU between RCA and Sports Council ends, there are discussions about forming an ad-hoc committee to continue sports activities. If this happens then all the rights of Vaibhav Gehlot will be lost. Now he is the president only in name. The adhoc committee can also take a decision to hold re-elections in the next six months. In such a situation, Vaibhav Gehlot’s departure from RCA is considered certain.
