Jagran correspondent, Jaipur. In Srikaranpur of Sriganganagar district in Rajasthan, the Police and Intelligence Bureau have arrested a youth for selling sensitive data of the Central Government and private sector on the dark web. The arrested youth was selling the data in exchange for crypto.

Sensitive data found from armies of four countries

4500 GB storage data, five lakh Aadhar cards, country’s citizen data (information about citizenship) and sensitive data of armies of four countries have been found from the youth. Sensitive data found with a youth in Sriganganagar, adjacent to the Pakistan border, has increased the concern of security agencies.

Was selling data for a long time

The young man had been stealing and selling online data related to the central government on Telegram through mobile phone and laptop for a long time. Recently, when the cyber cell received information about this, an investigation was conducted. Cyber ​​​​investigation revealed that the young man has the data of Aadhaar card, PAN card, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, Indian Army, US and Ukraine army as well as Manipur Police related to the Central Government.

Amit is a second year graduate student

Joint interrogation of police, intelligence bureau and security agencies revealed that the arrested 20-year-old youth, Amit, is a second year graduation student. He is a resident of a village in Sriganganagar district. His father Naseeb Chand works in Dubai. Initial interrogation of the youth arrested late on Saturday night revealed that he had created three Telegram channels through which he used to sell data.

The youth is being interrogated at the local level along with the Intelligence Bureau and security agencies under the direction of Deputy Superintendent of Police Sudha Palawat. Initial inquiry revealed that he was active from home. He was active on different platforms of the dark web and Telegram. During online gaming he came in contact with the dark web and deep web (depths of the internet). Gradually he became so expert in data theft that he started stealing and selling data online. He was running a Telegram channel when he was arrested.

Where did you get so much data from?

During interrogation it was revealed that he used to play video games in 2018. While playing the game he went into the deep web. He told during interrogation that about five lakh Aadhar cards, thousands of PAN cards, about 4500 GB data of the army and four countries have been obtained through the dark web. Through this he has so far made transactions worth Rs 1 lakh 11 thousand.

Police recovered huge quantity of goods

Police have recovered many items including three mobile phones, one laptop, one computer, two pen drives, five hard disks from him. About Rs 24 thousand have been found. Investigative agencies are trying to find out whether the youth was selling security-related data to any enemy country.
