An agreement has been reached between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to contest the Lok Sabha elections together in Haryana. Congress will contest elections on nine out of ten seats in Haryana. This is the first time in the history of Haryana, when Congress will contest elections in alliance. Before this she had been contesting elections alone.

At the same time, BJP and Aam Aadmi Party have already contested elections under alliance. Sometimes BJP contested elections with INLD and sometimes with Haryana Janhit Congress. In the year 2019, Aam Aadmi Party had contested the elections with Janata Jannayak Party (JJP).

Despite the agreement between Congress and AAP, the contest will not be easy. Aam Aadmi Party had fielded its candidates from Faridabad, Ambala and Karnal seats in the last Lok Sabha elections. The party’s security deposit was confiscated at all three places.

At the same time, the situation of Congress in Kurukshetra was also not so good. Nirmal Singh, who contested the election on Congress ticket, got 24.7 percent votes, while BJP MP Nayab Singh Saini got 56.0 percent votes. Whereas, JJP-AAP got 5.6 percent votes.
