ANI, Manila. A Chinese military drone was seen flying near the Philippines before the delivery of BrahMos missile from India. According to the Eurasian Times, it was a WZ-7 Soaring Dragon drone of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. According to reports, the WZ-7 drone was spotted crossing the skies over the West Philippine Sea. Explain that the Philippine Sea is a part of the South China Sea in the north-west.
The acquisition of BrahMos missiles from India is being considered as a strategic move by the Philippines to counter China’s aggression in the region. BrahMos missile reached Mani on 19th April. The missile has been procured as part of the ‘Horizon 2’ priority projects aimed at modernizing the Philippine Armed Forces.

The delivery, which will be made through a Government-to-Government (G2G) deal, includes three missile batteries, operator and maintainer training and an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) package. According to a report by The Eurasian Times, each missile battery typically consists of three mobile autonomous launchers with two or three missile tubes, including the necessary tracking systems.
Conyong Ya China Ki Koi Chal?
The sighting of the WZ-7 drone before the delivery of BrahMos missiles can be considered an interesting coincidence. Notably, this incident took place before the start of the ‘Balikatan 2024’ exercise between the Philippines and the US. The jet-powered WZ-7, flown by the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) and the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), has a service ceiling of over 60,000 feet and a range of approximately 4,350 miles.
