After the heatwave alert in Jharkhand, the state government has changed the school timings. Besides, outdoor activities in sunlight have also been banned.

Jharkhand School Timing: Amid the heatwave-like situation in Jharkhand, the state government has announced changes in school timings from April 22 till further notice. An order from the education department said that under the new schedule, students from kindergarten to class 8 will attend schools from 7 am to 11.30 am, while classes for students from classes 9 to 12 will continue till noon.

In this order, it has also been asked to ban prayer meetings or sports activities held in the afternoon or in the sun. Apart from this, a separate decision will be taken and communicated regarding compensation for any educational loss incurred during this period.

The temperature will cross 40 degrees!

The order states that prayer meetings and sports will not be organized in the sun during this period, but lunches will continue. The weather department has already issued a heatwave alert for 15 districts from April 20 to April 22, due to which the temperature will reach above 40 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state.
