There has been continuous snowfall and rain in Himachal Pradesh for the last few days. Due to which 100 roads and three national highways of Himachal have been closed.

More than 100 roads are closed due to snowfall in Himachal Pradesh in the past few days. Due to road closure, long queues of vehicles have formed. According to the information, 99 roads have been blocked in Lahaul and Spiti, three roads in Kullu and one road each in Chamba and Kangra have been closed. Apart from this, the Disaster Management Authority in Himachal Pradesh informed that a bridge collapsed due to rain in Kangra.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of thunderstorm along with lightning on April 22 and 23 in many parts of Himachal Pradesh and has issued a yellow alert.

According to the IMD forecast released from the beginning of this week, there will be more than normal rainfall in the months of June to September. With this it can be said that this time the monsoon is expected to receive more rain than last year.

Apart from this, according to the estimates of Monsoon Mission Climate Forecast System, El Nino Southern Oscillation conditions can be strengthened by weakening El Nino conditions. Apart from this, IMD has informed that the amount of rainfall in the year 2024 may be 106%, which is considered to be more than the normal amount.
