Palakkad: 40 lakhs worth of pipe money tried to be smuggled in the body was caught in Palakkad. Two people from Maharashtra were caught by the anti-narcotics squad with undocumented money. The Kasaba police started an investigation into the source of the money. Vishal Babaso Bilaskar and Chavan Sachin Jai Singh, who are natives of Maharashtra, were arrested with money in the border area by the anti-narcotics squad and police ahead of the elections.

Both have been living in Pattambi for a long time. The two bus passengers were caught following a tip-off that they were smuggling pipe money from Coimbatore. The journey took two routes to avoid the police. Vishal was first arrested near the Walayar police station. Based on the information received from him, Chavan Sachin, who was traveling via Kozanjampara, was also caught.

The bundles of notes were kept in a special compartment inside the banyan of both of them. They have admitted to the police that this is money for distribution in Pattambi area. The police got the information that they were pipe money carriers earlier too. The police also informed that the public transport system was used to avoid suspicion. Police take this type of money flow seriously during elections. Kasaba police started investigation focusing on the moneylenders of Pattambi and Coimbatore.
