Delhi Liquor Policy Case: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is locked up in Delhi’s Tihar Jail, was struck by the court on Monday. The Rouse Avenue Court has rejected the Delhi CM’s plea for regular meetings with doctors and provision of insulin through video conferencing.

The court directed AIIMS to constitute a medical board to examine Arvind Kejriwal. The AIIMS panel will decide whether AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal should be given insulin or not.
The court gave this direction
The court directed that due medical treatment should be provided and in case of need for special consultation the jail authorities would appoint a medical board constituted by the AIIMS director which would include an endocrinologist and a diabetologist.

Arvind Kejriwal had demanded in his petition that he should be allowed to meet the doctor for 15 minutes regularly in the presence of his wife. Kejriwal had on Friday alleged that he was not being given insulin in jail, leading to a “dangerous” rise in his blood sugar levels.
A letter was written to Tihar Jail Superintendent
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Tihar Jail Superintendent claiming that he is demanding daily insulin amid rising sugar levels. In a letter to the jail superintendent on Monday, Kejriwal had alleged that the jail administration was lying due to political pressure.
The Tihar administration said in a statement on Sunday that it had arranged a video conference with Kejriwal and senior experts of AIIMS on April 20, during which neither Kejriwal raised the issue of insulin nor the doctors gave any such advice.

The Aam Aadmi Party has accused the Tihar administration of not giving insulin to Kejriwal, who is suffering from diabetes. The party has also accused him of conspiracy to kill him. Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the investigation into the money laundering case related to the excise policy.
