Party general secretary Jairam Ramesh alleged that after the Congress formed the government in Karnataka in May, 2023, the Modi government has continuously discriminated against the state.

“This is a victory for the long-suffering farmers of Karnataka and the state government that has fought for their welfare and interests,” he said.

Ramesh posted on social media platform First, he tried to thwart the Anna Bhagya Food Security Scheme. The Congress government stood firm and launched a cash transfer scheme for 4.49 crore beneficiaries.

The Karnataka government had approached the Modi government to release Rs 18,172 crore for drought relief by early September 2023.
