BJP has taken action against Karnataka rebel leader KS Eshwarappa. Karnataka BJP has expelled senior party leader turned rebel KS Eshwarappa from the party for 6 years. Angered by his son not being given Lok Sabha ticket from Haveri, Eshwarappa has announced to contest the elections as an independent candidate from Shivamogga. This is why the party has now taken action against him. Eshwarappa has received the sugarcane farmer election symbol from the Election Commission as an independent candidate.

Actually, Eshwarappa had announced his retirement from politics and had demanded to give ticket to his son from Haveri. But when this did not happen, he became a rebel and decided to contest the elections as an independent candidate. He expressed his displeasure against BJP leader and former CM BS Yediyurappa. He will contest against Yediyurappa’s son BY Raghavendra in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections. Union Home Minister Amit Shah himself had asked Eshwarappa to withdraw his nomination, but he did not agree.

The letter issued by BJP said that Eshwarappa has decided to go against the party’s protocol and contest this Lok Sabha election as an independent. This has caused embarrassment to the party. After this the party has taken this step and he is expelled from the party for 6 years.
