He has also been the state president of the party. After which now he is expelled for 6 years. The party had to face embarrassment due to his rebellious attitude. The party has taken this decision a few days after Eshwarappa rebelled. When his son did not get the ticket, he said that he was no longer with BJP. He also has no fear of any disciplinary action against him.

Had asked for ticket for son on Haveri seat

Earlier, Eshwarappa had sought a ticket for his son from Haveri seat in Karnataka South. But the party did not give ticket to his son Kantesh. For this he directly held Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra responsible. Apart from this, blame was also placed on his father BS Yediyurappa. After this he said that he is contesting the election as an independent candidate. He has no fear of action from anyone (Vijayendra). Being the state president, doesn’t he know what it means to contest elections as an independent? He has come out of the party. I am not afraid of threats of disciplinary action.

Whoever has to do whatever, do it. My thinking is like that of PM. They are fighting the dynastic politics of Sonia and Rahul at the Centre. I to oust the party from father-son politics in Karnataka. Eshwarappa had filed nomination from Shivamogga as an independent on April 12. Here, BY Raghavendra, the sitting BJP MP and Yediyurappa’s elder son, is contesting. Geeta Shivrajkumar is in the fray from Congress. Many BJP leaders had gone to convince him. But they did not agree. They are using saffron dupatta and photos of PM Modi during the campaign. They are saying that PM lives in their heart. The party has also expressed objection to this step.
