Delhi, Witness: The accused in the liquor scam case, BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavita will be crucial today. While her judicial custody ends today, arguments on her bail petition in the ED case will continue for the second day. It is known that the arguments on her bail petition in the CBI case have already ended.. the judgment has been reserved.

Kavitha filed a petition in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court claiming that the Enforcement Directorate had illegally arrested her on March 15 in a liquor scam and that she should be granted bail. Arguments were held on Monday on both sides of this petition. It is remarkable that the investigation is going on mainly on the destruction of evidence. While the ED argued that she had deleted the data on the digital phones, Kavita’s counsel argued that there was no such thing.

The lawyer on behalf of ED argued that no data could be found in the phones given by Kavita, there was no data because the phones were formatted, and her phones were formatted intentionally. However, Kavita’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi argued that they did not destroy any evidence. He brought to the notice of the court that among the phones given to the ED, there were also the phones given by her to the workers. At that time, the lawyer for the ED brought to the attention of the judge that Kavitha had voluntarily given her phones to the ED, but there was no data in them.

It is noteworthy that Judge Kaveri Baveja mainly answered questions on the destruction of digital evidence in this order. Arguments on the bail petition filed by Kavitha will continue today at 2 pm.

Virtually from Tihar Jail.
Meanwhile, the trial court has imposed judicial custody in ED and CBI cases till 23rd of this month. As today’s custody ends, the authorities will present Kavitha before the judge through video conference from Tihar Jail. It seems likely that the investigating agencies will ask the trial court to extend the judicial custody for a few more days.

On the other hand, CBI arrested Kavitha on April 11 in the liquor case. Special Court Judge Kaveri Baweja pronounced the verdict on May 2 on the bail petition filed by Kavitha in this case.

My Lord consider these points: Kavitha’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi

Buchibabu gave four statements in the liquor scam case. Immediately Buchibabu was granted bail. Magunta Raghava got bail immediately after giving the same statement. Magunta Raghava’s father was given an MP ticket as an NDA candidate. All these are very important factors to be considered in this case. Sarath Reddy was granted bail after becoming an approver. After that BJP was given electoral bonds on a large scale. Based on their statements, I (Kavita) was implicated in the case. We have not destroyed evidence anywhere.”
