Odisha: Rudrapratap Maharathi, MLA and candidate of ruling Viju Janata Dal from Pipili assembly constituency under Puri district, is running a program to woo voters under the Jan Sampark Yatra. As soon as his name was confirmed by Wijad, he did not sit idle even for a day. He continues to smoke in his assembly constituency. During this period, at some places he included personnel from other parties in Wijad.

On April 22, while running a public relations campaign, he started from Mounimath and reached Ghoradia via Pidhpatna, Humar, Delang Shtesan Bazar, Delang Haat Bazaar, Jagdalpur, Kalupada, Nuasahi, Tailasahi, Kanti and Harirajpur. Supporting him in this campaign, powerful party member Sandhyarani Mahapatra, Delang Block Panchayat Committee President Vasanti Sahu, Zilla Parishad member Prasanna Kumar Sahu and Navghan Pradhan were present throughout the day. During this, the MLA assured the people that his priority would be to free them from all kinds of problems. It remains to be seen how much success he gets in garnering public support despite being ahead in publicity till now.
