Kollam – Attempted assault on a female TTE who asked a male passenger who had slept in a berth booked by a female to change his seat. Roji, a resident of Aluva, who was a passenger of the Chennai mail which had departed from Thiruvananthapuram, tried to assault the TTE. Kayamkulam Railway Police took him into custody. The incident happened when the train was about to reach Kollam station.

Roji’s was berth number 20 in the AC compartment. But he was lying at number 24. Then the women complained. The passenger tried to hit TTE Rajni Indira who came to question this but other passengers intervened and stopped her. As Roji tried to take a photograph of TTE while continuing the journey, the information was reported to the railway police.

But TTE said that the police officers who arrived at Kollam station did not intervene much. By then the train left Kollam. Roji was taken into custody at Kayamkulam. Earlier this month, TTE Vinod Kannan, a native of Odisha, was pushed to death from a train for questioning his ticketless journey.
