Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Vinod Patil, who fought legally for Maratha reservation, has withdrawn from the Lok Sabha elections. He made this announcement in a meeting of workers today. Vinod Patil has taken the stand of remaining neutral without contesting the Lok Sabha elections. He said that my stand should be neutral without supporting anyone, without going with any party and without contesting independent elections.
Insist that Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Lok Sabha should be contested
He said that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis wanted me to contest from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Vinod Patil alleged that they tried to ensure that I should contest the election, but two MLAs and one MP from the ruling city opposed me to nominate me. He said that the people of the city had insisted that Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Lok Sabha should be contested. Therefore, it was announced to contest the election.
Rubbing my nose and apologizing to people, I was not worth it
He said that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde asked him to contest the elections from Mahayuti over the phone. I had a talk with Chief Minister Shinde yesterday as well. In the last two or three days, I discussed with the citizens. If I contest as an independent, I can get elected, but if I don’t get elected, I don’t want to bear the stigma that I stood to overthrow someone. I do not hold back to benefit anyone. Will meet people from tomorrow. He also said that I apologize to people by rubbing my nose, I have not been successful. He also warned that those whose houses are made of glass should not throw stones at people’s houses.
