In a significant disciplinary action, the Delhi High Court has suspended a lower court judge with immediate effect. Disciplinary proceedings have been initiated by the High Court against a judicial officer of the Delhi Higher Judicial Services (DHJS). An order issued by the office of Registrar General Kanwaljit Arora on April 16 stated that disciplinary proceedings against the officers of the Delhi Higher Judicial Service will be initiated under the relevant provisions of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969 and the Delhi Higher Judicial Service Rules, 1970. It’s done. The officer of DHJS has been suspended with immediate effect by virtue of the powers conferred by these rules.
According to the order, “During the period of validity of this order, the headquarters of the Judicial Officer shall be at the office of the Principal District and Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge (PC Act) (CBI) at Rouse Avenue Courts Complex. The order also clarifies that during this period, judges will continue to receive their allowances as per applicable rules. This action is in line with incidents like the suspension of a judge posted in Saket Court on February 17 last year and the suspension of an Additional District Judge (MACT) and another Special Judge (Electricity) posted in Dwarka Court in 2017. These judges were suspended due to allegations of corruption.
