Patna: A youth wing leader of Nitish Kumar’s United Janata Dal has been shot dead in India.
The man, identified as Selarab Kumar, was killed on Wednesday night (April 24) while returning from a wedding function in Patna, police said.
Munmun Kumar, another person who was with Selarab, was injured in the firing at Barsa Bazar village, said R. who was on duty at Punpun area police station. Singh said the officer.
Four unidentified men on a motorcycle shot Selarab twice in the head. Munmun Kumar was shot three times.
Both were rushed to the hospital. The doctors confirmed that Celara had died there. Munmun was hospitalized in critical condition.
Enraged locals reportedly staged a road blockade following the murder.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing. Further details will be released later, it said.
