PTI, New Delhi. SC on Delhi Services row The AAP government in Delhi has been granted immediate relief by the Supreme Court. The court said it would hear a plea challenging the central government’s law establishing the primacy of the lieutenant governor over the elected system in controlling services in the national capital. The court said it would consider listing the case.

Singhvi said- Administration in Delhi is at a standstill

Appearing for the AAP government before a bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra, senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi urged that the entire administration has stalled and the matter needs to be heard.

The CJI said that the case is currently pending in a nine-judge bench and he will consider this plea.

The bench is currently hearing the matter

A nine-judge bench headed by the CJI is currently hearing the petitions on whether private properties can be considered “material resources of the community” under Article 39(b) of the Constitution, which is the guiding principle of state policy. Why is there a share?

The apex court had earlier referred the Delhi government’s petition challenging the Centre’s May 19 ordinance last year to a five-judge constitution bench, which had declared the Delhi government’s authority over several aspects of the city’s governance. Later, a central law was brought in through an ordinance on this issue.
